Feast Your Eyes, Glut Your Soul
***Disclaimer: I got this idea from Pinterest, an exercise where you write a 20 word sentence, then a 19 word sentence, and so on, ending the story with one word.***

This 20 Sentence Story is inspired by Phantom of the Opera
—
I wasn’t created in your image, and because of your fear and your hatred, I am what you made me.
Doomed to be misunderstood since my birth: born during a massacre, ridiculed and exiled, deemed a leper and insane.
You forced me to realize my ugliness, to realize my despair that would forever be an unwelcome reminder.
A reminder I should be forced to hide, to hate myself as much as you hate me.
And so that is what I’ve done, but you will learn that I haven’t gone far.
For I’ll love the opera until my dying breath, and I’ve heard the angel’s song.
And so I will shatter your chandeliers and I will strangle you with nooses.
Yes, I will show you what the opera was always meant to be.
I will prove my love by making you love her, dear Christine.
Oh, Christine, I have waited long weary months to behold you.
All I ask of you is to devote your love.
For because of me you will shine and sing.
You will abandon your lover and choose me.
And I will be yours, yours forevermore.
For in you, there is light.
I’ll be anything for you.
Your angel of music.
Your opera ghost.
Your phantom.
Erik.
