06/27/2025: Questions of a Contradictory or Ridiculous Nature
Don’t mind me, I just felt like goofing around and breaking my already muddled brain today:
To quote a beloved rom-com, “can you ever just be ‘whelmed’?”
Is there such a thing as a selfless act if it makes you feel good or self-important as a result?
Can you be a social loner?
Is it irrational if you rationalize being irrational?
Is nothingness actually something?
Is it “affect” or “effect” dang it?
To quote a favorite cartoon, “What’s today but yesterday’s tomorrow?”
Is anything at Kohl's ever actually on sale if it’s always on sale?
If we’re all “snowflakes,” aren’t we just the same?
Is it even possible to describe colors to someone who can’t see them?
Is there a synonym for the word synonym?
Are you indecisive if you decide to be?
Are they really rules if everyone rewrites them or picks and chooses which ones they want to follow, therefore creating their own rules or breaking them altogether?
Is referring to something as indescribable actually a way of describing it?
Whose truth is the right truth if there is only one?
Is intentionally “wasted” time actually wasted?
If it’s unexpected, can it really be anticipated?
Are you also a hater if you dislike the people that are “gonna hate?”
Is the destination actually a reachable place, or is the importance of the journey what keeps us working towards an unobtainable end point with an ever moving goal post?
Is answering a question with a question considered an answer?
Is it possible to fit in and stand out?
When you declare it’s Opposite Day, does that make it a regular day?
How is it inclusive if it's exclusive to begin with?
Can you really see something from another point of view other than your own?
Can you really understand how exactly someone else feels if you’re not them?
Why is “the talk” referred to as “the birds and the bees” when that’s not even close or comparable to what the conversation is really about, considering humans don’t pollinate flowers or lay eggs?
If you’re seeing it, is it actually a mirage?
Did someone actually put salt in someone’s wound once?
Did someone actually try to catch flies with honey and vinegar and report their findings, hence the saying?
Isn't the saying “it takes one to know one” kind of a backhanded and self inflicted insult to yourself?
If too many people take the road less travelled, does it become the well travelled road, making the previously well travelled road the road less travelled?
If you teach a man to fish and he’s the worst fisherman on the planet, will you actually feed him for a lifetime, or would you be better off at least giving him a fish until the next generous giver or teacher comes along?
If you actually think you’re right but people think you’re crazy, are you delusional or sane?
Is it possible to have all the answers when we couldn’t possibly know if we’ve asked all the questions?
Is there a point in asking contradictory or unanswerable questions?
